Shrek The Halls records giant ratings
Shrek The Halls, the 30 minute animated holiday special featuring the famous green ogre, recorded outstanding audience ratings in the United States and across Europe in December.
The show, which features Mike Myers, Cameron Diaz and Eddie Murphy reprising their roles from the Dreamworks’ movie, delivered a 17% audience share via US network ABC when it aired on November 28. ABC currently averages an 11% audience share.
In Portugal, commercial broadcaster SIC recorded a 45.7% audience share in the 4+, compared to its 23.6% average. In Spain Antena3 also saw its ratings explode with a 37.3% share compared to its 16.9% average.
Italian broadcaster Canale 5 aired the show on December 24 and delivered a 25.44% audience share compared to its 21% average, while German station Pro7 made a 9.5% audience share in the 3+ and a 17% in the 14-49 demographic compared to its averages of 6.6% and 12.1% respectively.
The special also aired on Australia’s Nine Network, Canada’s CTV, Mexico’s Televisa and the BBC in the UK
