LA Screenings on – says CBS Paramount
The LA Screenings, the international market for scripted fare from the major US studios, will go ahead as usual despite the writer’s strike.
CBS Paramount International Television announced that it would host international buyers at its lot in May. “Screenings will begin with buyers from Latin America and the Caribbean on Saturday, May 17th and other territories will screen Monday, May 19th continuing through Thursday, May 22nd,” it noted.
This follows last week’s announcement that the networks would showcase their new programming to advertisers at a series of upfront presentations at the start of May.
Many had feared that the length of the writers’ strike would affect the amount of new shows that would be developed and produced.
Bruce Rosenblum, president of Warner Bros. Television Group, told TBIvision last month that although it would be tight, his studio would have new shows to unveil in May. “We’ll make it. It’ll be tough, but we’ll make it,” he said.
