Marathon buys KM Production

French producer and distributor Marathon Group has acquired a controlling stake in local production KM Production, which is headed by industry veteran Renaud Le Van Kim.

This comes as the French independent production sector is showing similar signs of consolidation to the UK market, which has seen the rise of the superindie.

Marathon, which is owned by Italian media company De Agostini, has acquired the production company for its successful daytime talk show formats and events productions. It also produces drama and kids series.

KM currently produces daily talkshow Le Grand Journal for pay TV platform Canal+.
