Nick launches tween telenovela

Nickelodeon Latin America is launching the first tween telenovela – Isa TKM (Te Quiero Mucho) – after inking a coproduction deal with Sony Pictures Television International.

This marks the first time a pay TV channel in Latin America has launched a telenovela aimed specifically for kids.

The series will be produced in Venezuela and is expected to bow before the end of the year.

Nick Latin America has been looking to ramp up its original local productions following the success of live action format Skimo, which was produced with Mexican production company Macias Group.

Sony Pictures Television International has also seen some recent success with telenovelas, most recently coproducing Zorro with Telemundo Internacional.
