ShineReveille boosts Lat Am business
ShineReveille, the recently merged production and distribution company, is ramping up its sales business in Latin America following a busy week at LA Screenings.
Matt Vassallo, manager, international distribution and creative affairs, is heading its business in the region and is currently in negotiations with Latin American broadcasters over its raft of scripted and non-scripted content.
ShineReveille is distributing a number of major network commissions and cable series after it inked a deal with US indie producer Media Rights Capital (MRC). It is selling the Mike Judge animated series The Goode Family, which will air on ABC, as well as three shows on The CW – Easy Money, Valentine’s Day and Fat City – and HBO slacker comedy The Life and Times of Tim.
“We’re already talking about overall deals and output deals,” said Vassallo. “It differs from country to country, but some such as Mexico will take certain series, whereas the pan Latin broadcasters like output deals.”
The company is also selling formats including Masterchef, which is produced in the UK by Shine, Fox’s Outnumbered and Moment of Truth, which aired in Columbia before bowing in the US. “It’s a misconception that Moment of Truth came out of Columbia. Caracol premiered it before Fox and Sky, but it came from the United States,” he added.
