ProSiebenSat.1 acquires C More

German broadcast group ProSiebenSat.1 is to sell its pay TV business C More Group to Swedish commercial broadcaster TV4 for €320m.

ProSiebenSat.1 inherited the Scandinavian pay TV group, which operates eight channels under the Canal+ brand, following the acquisition of SBS Broadcasting last year.

TV4, which is owned by Swedish media group Bonnier, operates a number of free-to-air and pay TV channels across the region.

C More is known for its sports and movies coverage; the broadcaster owns the TV rights to games from a number of major sports leagues including the English Premier League and Major League Baseball and has movie deals with a number of major US studios including Warner Bros., Fox and MGM. It airs popular US series including Entourage, Curb Your Enthusiasm and Weeds.
