Kidsco to launch in Spain
Children’s channel Kidsco is set to launch in Spain after local content provider Teuve struck a deal with pay TV platform Imagenio.
This marks the network’s debut launch in Western Europe.
The channel will launch this month via the Telefonica-owned IPTV platform, which currently has over 500,000 subscribers.
Kidsco, which is a joint venture between NBC Universal, Cookie Jar and Corus Entertainment, will launch shows including Heathcliff (pictured), Sonic the Hedgehog, Inspector Gadget and Strawberry Shortcake.
The international channel operator, run by former Disney boss Paul Robinson, struck a deal with local channel aggregator Teuve, which in turn inked the Imagenio deal.
Kidsco is aiming to be in 40 territories by the end of the year. It has already launched in Eastern Europe and in sub-Saharan Africa.
