Kidsco strikes Iconix deal
International kids broadcaster Kidsco has acquired a raft of new shows from Asian distributor Iconix Entertainment to launch on its pan regional channel.
The broadcaster, which is jointly owned by NBC Universal, Cookie Jar Group and Corus Entertainment, has picked up animated series including Nalong Fly to the Sky and Spheres, which will launch early next year.
This deal will cover Kidsco’s channels in Singapore, Hong Kong, Thailand, South Korea and its sub-Saharan feed. Kidsco currently broadcasts a mix of kids shows from its parent companies library including Inspector Gadget, Wallace & Gromit, Babar and Franklin.
Meanwhile, the channel operator has inked a deal with Papua New Guinea’s Channel 8 that will see it launch in the country later this year.
