Maria Kyriacou, MD, ITV Studios Global Entertainment

Maria Kyriacou will be heading to MIPCOM as managing director of ITV Studios Global Entertainment for the first time.

Kyriacou was previously senior VP, digital media distribution, EMEA, The Walt Disney Company, where she worked since 1995 when she joined as VP, portfolio development.

She joins the distribution arm of the British commercial broadcaster at an important time; the sales arm is propping up its domestic and international production division, which has suffered the effects of a major drop in commissions. The company has also undergone a major executive reshuffle; it has hired former Channel 4 director of television Kevin Lygo as managing director of ITV Studios, who she will report to, and it is also in the process of hiring a chief operating officer.  

Kyriacou will be selling ITV Studios’ latest series and formats including 18 To Life, the Canadian produced series that is airing on US network The CW, and White Van Man, a 6x30mins scripted comedy for BBC Three.
