DRG wins back Underbelly rights
DRG has picked up international rights to the latest two seasons of popular Australian crime drama Underbelly.
The distributor sold the first three seasons of the scripted series before ITV Studios stepped in and took the rights to the fourth season, Underbelly: Razor.
DRG will now sell Underbelly 5: Badness and Underbelly 6: Squizzy.
The show airs on Australian free-to-air network Channel 9 and is produced by Australia’s Screentime, which has just been acquired by Banijay.
“The Underbelly franchise has performed well for DRG internationally, with previous series transmitted in over 150 territories,” said Anke Stoll, head of acquisitions and Development at DRG. “We are excited to add another two series to our Underbelly slate, and our objective now is to get this Australian hit out to other markets.”
