ABC developing Israeli comedy Your Family or Mine

ABC is remaking Israeli comedy Your Family Or Mine, marking the latest series from the country to be adapted for US television.

The series, which will be known as Tribes in the States, was originally produced by Tedy Productions for Keshet Broadcasting. The 50x30mins comedy was created by Rubi Duanias and Yaniv Polishuk.

It will be adapted by How I Met Your Mother and Will & Grace executive producer Greg Malins and will be produced by Sony Pictures Television in association with Fanfare Productions.

Your Family Or Mine follows a couple that when they get married realise that they marry the mothers, the fathers and the siblings. In the Israeli version, 25 of the episodes are seen from the groom’s side and 25 episodes from the bride’s side.

Keshet’s Avi Nir and Ran Telem will also serve as executive producers.

This is the latest Israeli scripted format to be developed in the States following the success of In Treatment and Homeland as well as Fox comedy Traffic Light and Armoza-distributed The Ran Quadruplets.
