Discovery launching five channels on Turkish IPTV
Discovery is launching five of its channels on Turkish IPTV service Tivibu.
The IPTV service is run by Turk Telecom subsidiary TTNet and it will carry the Discovery Channel, Animal Planet, ID: Investigation Discovery, Discovery Science and Discovery World channels from later this month.
Discovery already has carriage deals with DSmart, Digiturk and Teledunya in Turkey. Discovery Channel, Animal Planet and Discovery Science are available on Dsmart, Digiturk and Teledunya.
The channel operator has ramped up business in Turkey this year, opening an office in Istanbul last month.
Phillip Luff, VP country manager for emerging business, Discovery Networks CEEMEA said: “The launch of Discovery’s channels on TTNet alongside Discovery’s existing cable and satellite distribution on Dsmart, Digiturk and Teledunya means that Discovery’s high quality programming is distributed on all major Pay-TV platforms; and our content can now be enjoyed by even more viewers on new IPTV and web TV services.”
