Absolutely rings up South Korea deal for The Phone
Absolutely has sold quiz format The Phone into South Korea.
CJ Entertainment has picked up the show for its CJ Channel with Dutch production company Park Lane on board as consultants.
The deal is the first in the country for Absolutely, the formats distributor in which Kees Abrahams new start-up Imagine Nation recently acquired a 50% stake.
In the Netherlands The Phone aired on AVRO.
“This is the first format sale in Korea. The quality we have seen from the Koreans, on a creative and production level, makes us look forward to an excellent adaptation,” said Absolutely CEO Patty Geneste.
The format has previously been adapted by broadcasters in the US, Middle East, South Africa, Brazil, Australia, Romania, and Israel.
