Spike TV launches new tattoo reality series
US cable network Spike TV is launching a new tattoo reality series produced by Endemol-owned Original Media.
The Viacom-owned broadcaster has ordered 10-episode one hour reality series Tattoo Rescue, which originally aired on the channel as a one-off backdoor pilot.
The series, which is exec produced by Original Media’s Charlie Corwin and Sweatshop Media’s Vem Miller, follows tattoo expert Joey Germinario, aka Joey Tattoo, as he transforms failing tattoo studios into profitable companies.
The series will launch next summer.
This comes as Spike TV has renewed World’s Worst Tenants for a second season. The half-hour show, which averaged around 1 million viewers for its first season, is produced by Zoo Productions, the company behind Southern Fried Stings.
It follows Todd Howard and his team of eviction specialists as they forcibly remove tenants from the premises they manage.
Both shows were ordered by Sharon Levy, executive vice president, original series and Tim Duffy, senior vice president, original series.
