Exclusive: MTV poaches BBC Worldwide sales exec Anthony Jewitt
Viacom International Media Networks has poached senior BBC Worldwide executive Anthony Jewitt to become its international sales director, TBI understands.
Jewitt was previously senior sales executive for UK and Ireland sales at the commercial arm of the British public broadcaster and was responsible for selling BBC Worldwide content to British and Irish networks. He closed deals with broadcasters including Virgin.
He will join Viacom International Media Network’s international programme sales (IPS) team, which is headed up by senior vice president Caroline Beaton.
Jewitt will join the company on December 18.
The move comes as Lauren Marriott, director of programme sales, Viacom International Media Networks, is set to head off on maternity leave. Jewitt will cover this maternity for twelve months and will be one of three European based sales directors with the division, reporting to Beaton.
