ReelzChannel orders Kennedys follow up
US cable network ReelzChannel is developing a follow up to its controversial miniseries The Kennedys with Canadian producer Muse Entertainment.
The broadcaster has struck a co-development deal with Muse, which was behind the original series, after it acquired the rights to J. Randy Taraborrelli’s book After Camelot.
The show will be the third series the two companies have worked on together following The Kennedys and war drama Bomb Girls.
Muse Entertainment will produce the miniseries, in association with Intuition Productions, and will also handle international distribution.
After Camelot – A Personal History of the Kennedy Family 1968 to the Present tells the story of the Kennedy family after the assassination of John F. Kennedy as well as his brother Robert F. Kennedy.
“With The Kennedys miniseries we saw tremendous response to powerful storytelling along with an intense interest in this remarkable family. In his book, J. Randy Taraborrelli tells the incredible true story of the Kennedys from 1968 to today,” said Stan E. Hubbard, CEO of ReelzChannel.
“The Kennedy family continued to make an indelible mark on the life of America and the world after Robert Kennedy’s assassination, including universal healthcare and the creation of the Special Olympics,” said Michael Prupas, president and CEO of Muse Entertainment Enterprises.
