Australia’s ABC acquires Annoying Orange
Australian public broadcaster ABC has acquired Annoying Orange, the television series based on the viral hit. This marks the property’s first international sale after its debut in the United States via Cartoon Network.
The series is produced by The Collective and the deal was struck with ABC by Stella Projects, who alongside Gaffney Global Licensing, represent the property in Australia and New Zealand.
The show, which was created Dane Boedigheimer will launch on ABC3 in the new year.
This deal comes just after The Collective struck a deal with The Jim Henson Company to sell the television series internationally. The show marks one of the company’s first third party programming deals through its Henson Independent Properties division.
