Nickelodeon acquires BAFTA winner Lost and Found
Nickelodeon has acquired the television rights to animated feature film Lost and Found in the US, UK and Australia after striking a deal with distributor Entertainment One Family.
The Viacom-owned broadcaster will premiere the animated project in December.
Lost and Found, which was produced by British production company Studio AKA, tells the story of a little boy who finds a penguin on his doorstep and helps the penguin find its way back home to the South Pole. It is based on the best selling book by Oliver Jeffers. The animated series is narrated by Jim Broadbent and composed by Max Richter.
Jules Borkent, SVP, global acquisitions and international programming, Nickelodeon, said: “Lost and Found is a perfect fit for Nickelodeon with its richly detailed CGI animation bringing the story book to life in a heart-warming tale of friendship. We are confident this unique and truly beautiful special will resonate with our Nickelodeon audiences.”
Olivier Dumont, managing director of Entertainment One Family added: “The deal with Nickelodeon is a significant step towards our goal of ensuring that this remarkable film reaches audiences around the world who we know will be touched by this magical tale of friendship. We’re delighted to have them on board as a broadcast partner for Lost and Found; which will be perfect viewing for families this Christmas.’
