Mark Burnett hires ex-CBS exec Terry Wood to run unscripted
Mark Burnett’s One Three Media has hired former CBS executive Terry Wood to become president of unscripted and original syndication.
This comes as Burnett’s company is expanding its business and follows its hire of former HBO exec Anne Thomopoulos as president of scripted earlier this year.
Wood was previously president of creative affairs and development at CBS Television Distribution and she worked on series including Dr Phil, Rachael Ray and The Doctors. She left at the end of 2010.
One Three Media currently produces five unscripted series including The Voice and Shark Tank.
“I have known and admired Terry for many years,” Burnett said. “She is a personal friend and a top-level producer with an unparalleled track record of success with quality programming — which is very important in differentiating television storytelling today. She is a perfect fit for One Three as we expand our business into 2013.”
“We now have two of the most talented and experienced executives in the industry running the creative idea origination through production for our company,” Burnett said. “We are poised for enormous growth without compromising quality,” he added.
