New Zealand’s Prime acquires Red Arrow’s The Taste
New Zealand broadcaster Prime Television has acquired Nigella Lawson-fronted cooking format The Taste from Red Arrow International.
The deal was struck at the Asia Television Forum, which is being held this week in Singapore.
The network has acquired the nine episode series, which has been produced by Chris Coelen’s Kinetic Content for ABC in the US, and will air it in the new year.
This comes after Red Arrow International struck a number of local format deals that will see the format ordered by M6 in France, Australia’s Nine Network and Fox India.
“We are delighted to include `The Taste´ in Prime´s schedule for 2013
as it brings enormous value to our lifestyle lineup,” said PRIME Channel
Manager Kathy Wright. “Food and lifestyle programming is a popular part of our prime-time viewing and Nigella Lawson has been a familiar face for our viewers for many years, so we are very much looking forward to introducing our audience to her latest venture with Anthony Bourdain in this fantastic
new competition series,” she said.
Yan He, regional sales director, Asia Pacific at Red Arrow
International added: “This exciting blend of competition and cooking really
hits a nerve! Here at ATF, buyers love The Taste and I´m thrilled that
now the Kiwis get a chance to watch it on Prime.”
