Former Discovery boss to run factual programming at Muse

Canadian producer and distributor Muse has hired Ann Harbron to run its fledgling factual division. She joins from Discovery Channel Canada where she was director of commissioning and production.

Harbron will take the new role of managing director of factual programming.

She will be based in Muse’s new Toronto office.

She left Discovery last year. While there she was behind factual and factual entertainment shows including Canada’s Worst Driver, Canada’s Greatest Know It All and How William Shatner Changed the World.

“We are delighted that Ann, with her extensive network experience, production knowledge and relationships in Canada and internationally, will be leading Muse’s launch into the exciting and popular world of factual entertainment,” says Michael Prupas, Muse Entertainment’s president and CEO.

Harbron said: “Muse is already internationally acclaimed for delivering dynamic, high-quality drama programming.  Being tapped to build its non-fiction division is an outstanding opportunity.”

Muse is best known for its scripted series, which include The Kennedys, Bomb Girls and Durham County.
