Lifetime ups Chessler, hires Hardy
US cable network Lifetime has promoted one its key programming executives, Kimberly Chessler and hired another, Paul Hardy. Both will have the title of vice president, reality programming.
Chessler joined Lifetime in 2010 after over a decade at NBC Universal’s female-skewing net Oxygen. She has worked on unscripted series including Dance Moms and Abby’s Ultimate Dance.
Hardy joins Lifetime from TruTV where he developed shows including Killer Karaoke and Swamp Hunters.
Both executives will be based in New York and report to Gena McCarthy, senior VP, reality & alternative programming at Lifetime.
“Kim has been instrumental in building the Dance Moms franchise into a cultural phenomenon and major hit for Lifetime. I am very pleased to recognise her many contributions to the company with this much deserved promotion,” said McCarthy. “Paul brings to Lifetime a proven track record, strong relationships in the unscripted space and a unique perspective on where the genre is heading.”
