Shine recruits Palacio to run new Latin division

Shine has hired Cristina Palacio to run a new division that will make content for US Hispanic and Latin American broadcasters.
Shine Hispanic & Latin America will have offices in Miami and Bogota, Colombia.
Palacio founded Colombian producer BE-TV and will be president of the new division, Shine Hispanic & Latin America. The unit will be part of Shine’s US arm, Shine America.
She will report direct to Rich Ross, the former Disney executive who runs Shine America.
Ross said: “With Shine Hispanic & Latin America we are looking to further develop and distribute both scripted and un-scripted programming to the rapidly growing Spanish-language marketplace. Cristina’s vast experience in production and distribution make her the ideal person to lead our new team.”
To date, Shine has developed one Spanish-language series, a Spanish version of Minute to Win It, for Fox’s fledgling US Hispanic net, MundoFox.
