UK drama experts set up Far Moor
Drama executive producers Justin Thomson-Glover and Patrick Irwin have teamed with media law firm Lee & Thomson to launch a new business Far Moor Media.
The new company will be an executive producer business offering consultancy and help to companies working on high-end scripted projects. It will advise on content and on the intricacies of setting up an international coproduction as well how to source funding, arrange finance, presales and distribution.
One of Far Moor’s first projects is Jonathan Strange And Mr Norrell, which is being produced by production company CUBA (Boy A, Broken), in association with Feel Film. The six-part series is based on the bestselling novel by Susanna Clarke and adapted by Peter Harness.
Thomson-Glover said: “With the appetite for high quality international miniseries and serials growing rapidly in Europe, North America and Australia we are positioning Far Moor to broker innovative partnerships between broadcasters, distributors, financiers and producers so that deficits can be raised and great projects successfully made”.
Irwin said: “The advent of UK television tax credit in April will once again see the UK become a cost-effective filming location for large scale drama productions, and Far Moor are well placed to advise both UK and international producers on structuring.
