Entertainment One staffs up acquisitions team

Entertainment One (eOne) has hired two new acquisitions managers, poaching executives from ITV and Teletoon.

Justina Hemperek joins from ITV as London-based manager, factual acquisitions, UK and Europe.

Jessica Watson joins from Canadian kids broadcaster Teletoon and will be based in Toronto. As acquisitions manager, she will buy across all genres and territories.

Both new staff will report directly to Prentiss Fraser, senior VP, worldwide sales & acquisitions.

She said: “eOne is expanding our acquisition team to continue the growth of our catalogue. Justina and Jessica will play an integral role in the ramp up on sourcing new content and the redefining of our offerings to clients worldwide.”

Separately, eOne has promoted Laura Clunie to VP, creative affairs and she will relocate from London to Toronto to take the new role. From March 2013, she will oversee the acquisition and development of eOne’s family content.
