GSN orders cable version of Minute to Win It
US cable net GSN has ordered a new version of Shine’s gameshow format Minute to Win It.
The 40x1hrs version for GSN marks the first time dedicated episodes will have been on US cable.
The show, in which contestants take part in a series of 60-second challenges that use objects that are commonly available around the house, previously aired on broadcast network NBC with re-runs on GSN.
GSN is part of the Comcast group, which owns NBC.
The format was created by Friday TV, which is part of the Shine Group. The new version will be produced by Shine America.
Production will start in March and it will debut on GSN later this year.
“Minute to Win It is a buzzy, addictive and social media-friendly show and we are excited to be producing 40 new hour-long episodes,” said Amy Introcaso-Davis, GSN executive VP, programming.
