TCM buys Longmire

The UK version of Turner’s TCM has acquired drama series Longmire.

The one-hour drama series, about a Wyoming sheriff (Robert Taylor), was shown on the A+E Network in the US where it was, at the time, the network’s most-watched original series. With an average of 4.1 million viewers.

TCM has bought the series from Warner Bros. International Television Distribution, which sells it internationally.

It is produced by The Shephard/Robin Company and Warner Horizon Television and is based upon the books by Craig Johnson.

Jemma Yates, Turner UK programming director of general entertainment, says: “This modern day western crime drama offers viewers something new and unique, and has achieved huge success in the US.”
