Lovefilm bags ZDFE content
Lovefilm’s German arm has bought new crime, documentary and children’s programming from distributor ZDF Enterprises for its on-demand service.
The crime series include Arne Dahl, Verdict Revised and Commissario Montalbano, while new high-end doc content comes in the shape of Die Deutschen, Der Heilige Krieg and Universum der Ozeane.
The Amazon-owned online platform has also added new kids’ shows, including Dance Academy, Der Kleine Nick and Lauras Stern.
Lovefilm subscribers with rental packages starting at €6.99 (US$9.13) can access the content across a range of platforms, including connected TVs.
In recent months, Lovefilm has closed new deals with the likes of The Walt Disney Company, Warner Bros, MGM, the BBC and Studio Canal.
“The content deal with ZDF Enterprises is a genuine plus for our Lovefilm subscribers; the extremely multi-faceted titles will ensure outstanding entertainment on a high level,” said Lovefilm CEO Christoph Schneider.
