UK, Canada reveal Dinopaws footprints

A trio of UK, Canadian and international broadcasters has commissioned a new transatlantic preschool cartoon about three young dinosaurs.

The UK and international versions of CBeebies and Canada’s Treehouse are onboard Dinopaws (52×11′), with BBC Worldwide securing global TV distribution rights outside the UK and Canada and merchandising rights.

It will broadcast the BBC Worldwide Channels-owned CBeebies channel in Poland, the Nordic region, Africa, Australia and Asia, and the Latin American and US Hispanic markets.

Coproducers attached are the UK’s Impossible Kids, part of the Impossible Pictures stable, and Kindle Entertainment; and Canada’s Guru Studio. Production began in December, with delivery planned for spring 2014.

The preschooler follows three fun loving dinosaurs, whose curiosity takes them on magical adventures. Each episode leads to a discovery.

The concept comes from freelance animation screenwriter Alan Gilbey, along with Impossible, Kindle and Guru.
