BBC Three orders Horsemeat Banquet
BBC Three has ordered The Horsemeat Banquet, a one-off show in which a group of young diners are invited to tuck into a variety of horse dishes.
The show will TX on the UK public broadcaster’s youth channel in a 10pm slot on March 27.
It will be made by Shine-owned producer Dragonfly.
The show, which taps into the recent and ongoinhg scandal that has seen traces of horse meat found in beef products, was ordered by Sam Bickley, commissioning executive factual features and formats, BBC One & Three.
Zai Bennett, controller BBC Three, said: “The issue of whether or not the Brits should put horsemeat on the menu is an emotive one and I’m proud that the channel isn’t afraid to ask the question and challenge perceptions.”
