MIPTV News: James Corden will be BBCWW’s Wrong Mans in Cannes
BBC Worldwide will launch new Hulu drama series The Wrong Mans at MIPTV and will have talent from the show in Cannes including James Corden (Gavin & Stacey).
The 6x30mins comedy drama was one of US streaming service Hulu’s original slate of series announced earlier this year. It’s a coproduction between Hulu and UK pubcaster the BBC.
It follows a group of lowly office workers who get caught up in a criminal conspiracy.
The drama will head Worldwide’s scripted slate at the market, alongside Da Vinci’s Demons. It will have an its international premiere at a MIPTV screening event.
Israeli pay TV operator Yes has already picked up the drama, about a young Leonardo da Vinci, which is a coproduction with Starz. The US cable net will show it in the States.
Other Worldwide-distributed drama titles launching at MIPTV include Orphan Black, the new series for Worldwide’s US cable net BBC America about an orphan who witnesses the suicide of a woman who looks just like her.
A Young Doctor’s Notebook, the drama series about the early life of Russian playwright Mikhail Bulgakov and starring Daniel Radcliffe and John Hamm, will also make its market debut at MIPTV.
