Endemol picks up rights to BBC’s Ark
Endemol has taken international rights to upcoming six-part BBC drama The Ark.
The series, about World War One medics, will go into production later this year and air on the BBC in 2014 to coincide with the hundredth anniversary of the conflict.
Across six one-hour episodes, there will be a story of the week as well as a narrative arc that runs through the series.
The series is written by Sarah Phelps (Great Expectations) and will be directed David Evans (Downton Abbey).
Produced by BBC Drama, Endemol will launch the show internationally.
Cathy Payne, chief executive of Endemol Worldwide Distribution said: “The creative talent and story will ensure The Ark is a high-quality and highly anticipated programme for the international market’.
