Moonscoop strikes VOD deal
Kids content firm Moonscoop has scored a deal with a new North American children’s VOD platform to offer its programming via public library cards.
The deal with hoopla, a new digital platform from US company Midwest Tape, means programmes such as Code Lyoko and Tara Duncan will launch in the US and Canada on the platform when it goes live this year, with additional titles to follow.
The content will be available online and on mobiles devices to public library patrons. hoopla is a new library-targeted VOD platform operated by US company Midwest Tape.
The news comes as Moonscoop attempts to widen distribution of its extensive catalogue. It offers titles including Dive Olly Dive and Cosmic Quantum Ray through iTunes, while Amazon, Netflix, Canal Plus Infinity, Canada’s Videotron and new German VOD service Watchever all offer series from the library too.
Moonscoop is also the main shareholder behind US online web channel Kabillion, after quietly buying out Studio 100 Media’s 22.5% holding in July last year for an undisclosed amount. New Jersey-based investor REMIX Entertainment Ventures retains a 7.5% share.
