Perfect Storm taps ex-FX exec for new TV division

US media company Perfect Storm Entertainment has hired Danielle Woodrow to run its freshly minted TV division.

Woodrow was most recently senior VP, original programming, at FX Networks in the US, running the Current Series department.

Perfect Storm is a joint venture between Justin Lin (Fast & The Furious 6) and Bruno Wu and is part of China-based entertainment company Seven Stars Media.

The recently created TV division closed a first-look comedy deal with Sony Pictures Television. The company said it will focus on developing scripted dramas and comedies for network, cable, digital formats, and for the international market.

While at FX, Woodrow worked on series including Sons of Anarchy, Justified and Archer.

Lin, who in addition to his film work has directed several episodes of Community, said: “Danielle brings exceptional experience in television and adds an important element to Perfect Storm Entertainment.”
