RDF makes factual appointments, wins BBC commissions
UK producer RDF Television has appointed new heads of factual entertainment and popular factual and won a trio of commissions from UK public broadcaster the BBC.
Dan Barraclough has been appointed head of factual entertainment filling a role vacated by Tayte Simpson who left RDF earlier this year to head up factual development at Mentorn.
Jo Scarrat takes the newly created role of head of popular factual.
Both Barraclough and Scarrat were exec producers for RDF prior to these appointments and both will report to RDF Television managing director Jim Allen.
Barraclough will oversee a new 4x30mins series FightBack Britain, which has been commissioned by BBC One. It will tell the story of ordinary people taking part in the battle against crime.
Scarratt’s first task in her new role is to oversee another BBC commission, Collectaholics for BBC Two. The 3x60mins series will delve into Britain’s most spectacular personal collections, following collectors, gatherers and hoarders.
RDF has won a third BBC commission, one-off doc Auctioneers and Dealers (WT), examining the lucrative profusion of lost and relinquished goods as they turn up at auction.
