S.H.I.E.L.D., Hostages set for Canuck net
ABC’s superhero drama Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., CBS thriller Hostages and Fox comedy Surviving Jack are among the new US scripted series heading for Canadian broadcaster CTV.
Marvel Entertainment-produced S.H.I.E.L.D. was perhaps the buzziest show at this year’s LA Screenings. It goes to CTV via Disney Media Distribution, which has also sold the broadcaster Bradley Whitford and Malin Akerman comedy vehicle Trophy Wife and Ryan Seacrest-produced Mixology.
CTV has acquired Hostages from Warner Bros. International Television Distribution, along with dramas Believe and Intelligence and comedy Surviving Jack, which was considered the surprise breakout hit of the Screenings. It has also taken sci-fi drama The Tomorrow People.
From Sony Pictures Television comes Adam Goldberg comedy The Goldbergs; and from CBS Studios International is buzzy teen period drama Reign.
New CTV originals include covert affairs drama Played and comedy Spun Out.
