China employs All3’s Undercover Boss
A Chinese version of All3Media International-sold reality format Undercover Boss is in the works following a deal with Dragon TV.
The broadcaster will launch the local show following a deal All3 International’s executive VP, international formats, Stephanie Hartog concluded with Shanghai Media Group-owned Dragon. Hartog worked closely with local rep CMM-I to secure the agreement, which will see an initial 13x60mins season of the Studio Lambert-created format launch at an unspecified date.
“We are optimistic that the Chinese version of Undercover Boss will not only be a great show that inspires audiences, but that it also has the potential to open up a new formats era in China where more non-studio formats find their way into the market,” said CMM-I’s Florian Fettweis.
Chinese state broadcaster CCTV2 recently acquired the finished version of the show, which has been made in territories including the US, UK, Australia, Canada and France.
