Saban rejigs and staffs up for new licensing division
Saban Brands has upped several executives and hired a new VP as it launches a new licensing division.
The new Global Consumer Products unit will expand the licensing and merchandising campaigns for Saban properties, which include Power Rangers (above), Julius Jr. and Digimon. It will be run by Kirk Bloomgarden who will be senior VP.
The internal rejig also involves Nina Leong taking the new role of senior VP, strategic business development and will search for new lifestyle and fashion brands to add to Saban’s portfolio.
Mary Rafferty and Dan Wilson also have new roles in the new division – their titles are vice president of Global Consumer Products and Vice President of Global Retail, respectively.
Meanwhile, Brian Maeda has been hired from Xbox as Vice President of Licensing, and will focus on helping to grow Saban Brands’ business in Asia, with a focus on toys and video games.
Bloomgarden said: “The new Global Consumer Products division will help to streamline the process between licensees, retailers and all business partners globally.”
