ITV conjures up new magic show, ITVS GE to distribute
UK broadcaster ITV2 has commissioned Tricked, a new hidden camera show in which magicians fool celebrities and members of the public.
The 6x60mins series will see a mystery magician pulling off tricks and stunts such as surviving a 10-storey fall and restoring a shopper’s chopped up credit card.
ITV’s content arm ITV Studios will produce the show, which will broadcast in the fall. Sales division ITV Studios Global Entertainment has international distribution and format rights.
“We are hoping that by combining the joy of hidden camera with the jaw-dropping moments of close-up and large-scale magic, Tricked will deliver a different perspective to the magic show,” said ITV’s controller of digital channels and acquisitions Angela Jain. “Our magician is great and his cheeky personality is a perfect fit for ITV2.”
Kate Maddigan, commissioner, entertainment commissioned the show. Andy Scott is series producer, with Sumi Connock executive producing.
