AMC poaches CMT unscripted exec
AMC has poached US cable rival CMT’s senior VP of original programming to run its unscripted efforts.
Elliot Golding has become AMC’s senior VP, unscripted programming and will oversee The Walking Dead network’s original unscripted development, as well as its current unscripted portfolio.
He’ll report to AMC’s executive VP, original programming, production and development Joel Stillerman and his hire comes as AMC attempts to boost its original output in unscripted series. The net has recently launched series such as Walking Dead spin off Talking Dead, Small Town Securities and Comic Book Men.
“Eliot is a talented executive with both network and production company experience and a proven ability to tell authentic stories and find characters that resonate with audiences,” said Stillerman. “I look forward to having him join the team at AMC, and help us continue to evolve our unscripted strategy.”
At Viacom-owned CMT, Goldberg was senior VP, original programming and development and oversaw the launch of high-rating series Bayou Billionaires and Dog and Beth: On the Hunt. Before that, he was executive VP, programming and development for Ryan Seacrest Productions, where he helped develop Keeping Up with the Kardashians.
