Spain’s Phileas options formats to FremantleMedia, Endemol
Spain’s Phileas Productions has inked deals with FremantleMedia and Endemol for its format Don’t say it, Bring it!
Phileas has teamed with Turkey’s Global Agency to distribute the format and it has clinched the deals with FremantleMedia in France and Endemol in Italy, which will both now attempt to get local versions of the show away.
So far local versions have been made in Switzerland where a series has aired on SRF and a second season will go out in the public broadcaster’s autumn schedule, and in Germany where it is on ARD’s lifestyle and factual channel Eins Plus.
The format, which challenges contestants to answer questions without speaking, was optioned by Argonon’s Leopard for North America, but that has lapsed and Phileas told TBI several companies are looking at picking it up in the US
Indie producer Splash has an option in the UK.
As well as the French and Italian deals, Phileas and Global Agency have brokered agreements with partners in Spain and China for the show.
Europroducciones has the Spanish rights and Sergio Sancho, Phileas’ managing director hinted that a Spanish deal is close. “We hope to have good news shortly, because there is already one channel in particular that has expressed it’s interest in transmitting the show.”
In China, formats broker IPCN has picked up the show and will shop it to local broadcasters. IPCN has, Phileas added, also optioned another of its formats for China, The 20 Little Piggy Banks.
