Fox realigns domestic syndie arm

21^st Century Fox has moved to bring its syndication arm Twentieth Television under the umbrella of production wing Twentieth Century Fox Television.

Greg Meidel will continue to head up Twentieth Television as president, but now reports into TCFTV c-chairmen Gary Newman and Dana Walden. He previously reported to Fox News CEO and chairman Robert Ailes, who has now lost control of the Twentieth Television division.

The news comes after News Corp split its entertainment and publishing business in two earlier this month, with 21^st Century Fox becoming the new trading name of the TV and film unit.

Meidel will remain in charge of domestic broadcast and cable TV syndication of TCFTV’s hit series such as Modern Family, Glee, Family Guy (pictured), The Simpsons, How I Met Your Mother, Homeland and New Girl

Twentieth Television was previous part of the Fox Television Stations group, which will now have Stephen Brown, executive VP, programming and development in charge. Brown will report into Fox Television Stations’ CEO Jack Abernathy.

Fox Television Stations will continue to develop and produce daytime programming.
