Twofour Arabia scores Abu Dhabi TV output deal
The Arabic arm of UK indie Twofour has scored a long-term agreement to produce original content for the Abu Dhabi TV Network.
The deal will see UAE-based Twofour Arabia producing Arabic-language factual and features programming for Abu Dhabi TV ahead of a schedule grid re-launch on December 2.
Twofour said this would include a “substantial number of programmes over a twelve month period, including a series on some of the most inspirational people and landscapes the nation has to offer, and a series on professional chefs”.
The deal is part of Abu Dhabi TV owner Abu Dhabi Media’s public service charter that requires it to create programming that serves the public and the government’s collective interest.
“Abu Dhabi Media is pleased to partner with Twofour Arabia and exchange valuable skills and knowledge,” said Abu Dhabi TV’s director of operations and re-launch project manager Haitham al Kathiri. “We are confident that their international expertise will further enhance our production, as we continue working towards providing high-value content which is appealing and relevant to our audiences in the UAE.”
Three year-old Twofour Arabia is best known for documentary In the Footsteps of Thesiger. The company is based within the Twofour54 media city in the UAE (pictured).
