Endemol scripted boss Naomi Joseph leaves company
Naomi Joseph has left her role as executive director of international scripted programming at Endemol, TBI has learned.
She joined the producer and distributor in April 2010, working out of the London office and reporting to Martha Brass but has now left the company.
Endemol confirmed the personnel change. There will not be a like-for-like replacement, a spokesman said.
Her responsibilities have been divided between Iris Boelhouwer who is based in Amsterdam and heads Endemol’s global creative operations and Anna Langenberg, the company’s London-based head of format distribution.
Before Endemol, Jospeh was at Disney for two years, running the formats team and working across scripted and unscripted properties and prior to that served a twelve-year stint as executive VP, worldwide drama at FremantleMedia.
Endemol’s scripted series include Dutch crime drama Penoza, which ABC adapted as Red Widow in the US; BBC One drama Ripper Street; forthcoming BBC Two period drama Peaky Blinders and BBC3’s youth-skewed comedy Bad Education.
Endemol also has a US scripted operation, Endemol Studios, which Philippe Maigret and Jeremy Gold run. That unit is behind shows such as AMC’s remake of British crime drama Low Winter Sun.
