News brief: Channel 4 gets Taste for Nigella cooking series

The UK’s Channel 4 has secured broadcast rights to Nigella Lawson-fronted US cooking competition series The Taste and ordered a local version of the format.

CPL Productions, the UK prodco owned by Taste rights holder Red Arrow Entertainment, will create the UK show, which will pair celebrity chef Lawson with Anthony Bourdain and Ludo Lefebvre. Murray Boland and Danielle Lux are executive producing for CPL.

ABC recently commissioned a second series of the Kinetic Content-produced show, which has previously sold to the likes of Canada’s CTV, Australia’s Nine Network, Germany’s Sat.1 and France’s M6.
