Disney XD renews Ultimate Spider-Man

US kids cable channel Disney XD has renewed its animated superhero series Ultimate Spider-Man for a third time.

The new run of the Marvel Television-produced show, which makes up part of Disney XD’s Marvel Universe programming block, was revealed during a Marvel-branded panel at Comic Con International this past weekend.

The new season will include numerous crossovers with other superheroes from the Marvel Universe, including a plot line that will see Spider-Man become an Avenger.

Comic-Con fans were also treated to the first viewing of the pilot of upcoming ABC superhero series Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., which was held back from buyers at the LA Screenings in May so it could launch at the global comics confab in San Diego.
