Channel 5 orders Too Fat to Fly as part of Supersize season
UK free-to-air broadcaster Channel 5 has ordered a one-off doc, Too Fat to Fly.
The 1x60mins show will be made by UK indie Zig Zag Productions and chart the holiday horror stories experienced by obese holidaymakers, including people who have had to be cut out of theme park rides and winched out of waterslides while on holiday.
Zig Zag CEO Danny Fenton said: “Too Fat to Fly is a sympathetic look at the challenges involved in going on holiday when you are a very big and how that experience can change people”.
The show will be part of Channel 5’s Supersize Season of obesity-related docs. It will go out on the channel this autumn.
It is the fourth recent fact ent commission for Zig Zag, following Summer in Blackpool for BBC1, Body Bizarre for Discovery Networks International and Real 40 Year old Virgins for Channel 4.
