TNT renews hit series Rizzoli, Major Crimes and Perception
US cable network has renewed signature series Rizzoli & Isles as well as drama shows Major Crimes and Perception.
Cop series Rizzoli & Isles was the top-ranked basic cable shows through the summer with an average of 8.4 million viewers. The renewal will take it into its fifth season, which will comprise fifteen episodes. The show is produced by Warner Horizon Television, Hurdler Productions and Ostar Productions.
Major Crimes placed fifth on the basic cable summer ratings list. It will be heading into its third season, of fifteen episodes, having averaged 6.7 million viewers. The new run debuts next summer. The cop procedural is made by The Shephard/Robin Company and Walking Entropy, Inc. with Warner Bros. Television.
ABC Studios-produced crime drama Perception will also move into its third series, again stretching to fifteen instalments and debuting next year. Season two averaged 5.6 million.
TNT has already announced a renewal of DreamWorks TV-produced and Steven Spielberg executive produced drama Falling Skies.
The summer line-up for 2014 will also feature two new dramas, Michael Bay-produced action drama The Last Ship and Howard Gordon-produced Legends.
