PGS takes rights to new Alvinnn!!! and the Chipmunks
France-based distributor PGS has picked up international rights to the upcoming Alvinnn!!! and the Chipmunks TV series.
The new CGI series follows three successful recent movies and PGS will sell it in all international territories outside France and the US.
PGS acquired the rights from the 52x11mins show’s producer Bagdasarian Productions.
Alvin first appeared on TV in the 1960s and had a Saturday morning series on air between 1983 and 1991. The new Fox produced Alvin movies have grossed almost US$2 billion.
“It is an honor to represent the largest independent kids brand in the world. The Chipmunks are the number one family property and number one characters for kids 6 to 12,” said Philippe Soutter, co-founder and president, PGS Entertainment.
PGS will launch the series, which is coproduced by Genao Productions, at MIPCOM. Its creators, Ross and Janice Bagdasarian will be in Cannes to promote the show.
