Sony channels get on Blacklist in Asia
Sony has taken rights to US drama The Blacklist for its channels in Asia. The show is distributed by Sony’s sales arm and the studio’s networks division has picked up first-run rights to the thriller, which stars James Spader and was one of the buzziest shows at this year’s LA Screenings.
SPT has already sold the show to Sky Living in the UK and Shaw in Canada among others.
In the US it will be part of broadcast net NBC’s fall line-up. It is produced by Davis Entertainment Company in association with Sony Pictures Television.
Separately, SPT Networks Asia has also acquired adventure reality series The Hero. Hosted by Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson, the sow puts nine contestants through physical, mental and moral trials as they compete for the ‘Hero’ title.
The show debuted on cable net TNT in June in the US. It is sold internationally by Electus.
